Critical Beats for the Climate and the Do Lab are putting out a call to the community this Valentine’s Day to address climate change by giving back to the environmental resources which sustain us. We are partnering together with Rainforest Action Network to support one of the most efficient ways to address climate change by preventing the rapid CO2 emissions that result from the destruction of rainforests.
Critical Beats has been busy drawing together musicians from the Amazon with music producers in our community who have donated their talents to create new music showcasing the voice of the Amazon along with our favorite beats.
These music collaborations demonstrate how people are answering the call in their unique way: from a medicine man singing for healing, to the indigenous elders speaking so their language will live on, to the music producers in the studio weaving their magic together: each contribution is a unique voice contributing to the Amazon’s call for help.
We aim to show everyone at Lucent L’amour that every person has a unique gift that can be contributed and as a community we will make a difference. Each person breathes the oxygen and is healed from the rare medications that are derived from the rainforests – which at the current rate of deforestation will disappear in as little as 10-years – and each person has the capacity to protect this life-giving ecosystem.
Lucent L’Amour will feature a Critical Beats display booth with a collection of art and donations available for silent auction, the proceeds of which will go to Critical Beats and the Rainforest Action Network’s Protect-an-Acre program. We hope to feature a large representation from all parts of our community coming together to address environmental and social crisis in the Amazon. We want to showcase our community’s diverse creative talents and are asking for donations of art pieces, and services of all kinds for our silent auction. You can also contribute monetarily and by taking the time to educate yourself on the issues facing the Amazon.
So make sure to stop by our booth and partake in music, art, and awareness in service of the Amazon. And if you’d like to include something in the silent auction let us know what you would like to contribute and we will be happy to feature your name and any associated business at the event and on the Critical Beats website.
